NEW SCREENCAPS!!!!

Got a new show to screencap - Six Feet Under. I finally found someone who would be interested in using them, so I decided, why not? I love the show and have been wanting to cap it for a while anyway. I would have started earlier, but someone snagged my box sets...

For those following my real life, VW is still treating me like garbage. I have contacted everyone, including the CEOs in both the American and German sectors, only to get the same bullshit response. Moral here: Don't buy a VW. They have shit transmissions. And if you insist on buying one, for the love of God, get an extended powertrain warranty. So now I am in the middle of speaking to the Better Business Bureau, the State Attorney General, and various news outlets around town. I also am friends with the city prospector, so if it comes down to that, I can always talk to him. Ah, good times...

Today is my 27th birthday!

By tradition, it is one of the coldest days of the month. A good -6 degrees with a lovely hard wind blowing at us. I was born in a blizzard - this happens every year. I have to admit it is better than my 21st birthday in which I was walking through Saint Paul with a temperature of -22 degrees and a -40 wind chill. The wind was blowing at about 15 mph too, so it was a nightmare. The handle of my husband's car actually came off in my hand.

I did one little piece of art last night. Bear in mind I was a bit drunk from a pre birthday dinner, but I think it turned out halfway decent. I'm planning on using it in a wallpaper in the future, but for now, it's just a manip.

Kiss Manipulation: A simple Buffy/Sam manipulation. I found the hardest part of this whole thing was to doctor DOWN the quality because it's from a screencap and the Sam image is from a high res promo. So there is a lot of blurring going on.

Some new things here and there, nothing too fancy...

So tired today. My husband is a Viking fan and we had to deal with that damn NFC game last night. I'm a Packer fan, so I wanted them to lose, but not how they did. The night did take a bit of a sour turn though because specific persons at our house for the party take football a touch too seriously. I HATE that. So I was up until 3:30 this morning dealing with after party issues and got up for work at 7. Lovely...

Thanks so much for those that posted on the tagboard! I didn't know how my layout would be received (some people can be nasty about non canon ships - especially the slashy ones), but everyone was really nice! Thank you!

New Artwork
- A Dream: This was done for Erin Nicole's "Scrolling Along" challenge to make wallscrolls. First off, I love wallscrolls, so this was a lot of fun. Okay, the inspiration for this is kind of funny. I couldn't come up with a wallscroll idea until my Windows Media Player shuffled onto "Sex and Candy" by Macy Playground the other day, which I haven't heard on something other than TV in years. Anyhow, for those of you who watch True Blood, you'll already get this. For those that don't, my favorite ship in True Blood is Jessica and Hoyt. When they met, she walked into the bar and the song Sex and Candy was playing because, let's face it, she's HOT and looked it in this scene. She's all worried because she's a vampire and Hoyt accepts her for who she is. They're just a sweet couple. So here's the scene where they meet.

- She Took My Soul: My newest femslash OTP is making me crazy. Probably since these two are both just beautiful. It's fun doing art of pretty people. This is a pretty simple one. The lyrics are from "Closer" by Kings of Leon which is kind of my song of the moment right now. So it was just a matter of time before the lyrics got used. They seemed to fit well for this pairing though and since they don't exist, I can play it however I want. Probably the part of this piece that I love the most is the work I did on Alice's eyes to make them look light because they were originally dark. I also put some effects on her eyes and mouth to make them really stand out, if you look close. I used the image of Bella to make it look as if she was being dazzled by Alice.

- Never Fade Away: When I originally started to do a True Blood piece, I really wanted to do an Eric piece because regardless of the True Blood art on my site, he is my absolute favorite character in that show. Well, I was flipping through some photos and found the promo of Bill and Sookie dancing and just loved it. I added in a screencap from the scene just to add a bit more to it. It looks better with it. The lyrics seemed to fit nicely because they gave a foreshadowing to Bill's disappearance.
